I am a singer, songwriter, fiddler, and guitar picker. I play both classic American roots, folk, country, bluegrass, jazz and swing standards; and original songs in those same genres. Currently, I play with several groups in the San Francisco Bay Area including: "Don't Look Back", the "Jun Semundo Band"; and with "Spare Me The Details". I also perform solo.
I started playing guitar and singing in high school, fiddling in college, and song writing in my early twenties. I have been playing and performing in bands in the San Francisco Bay Area since the 1970's. Kate Wolf recorded my words to “Midnight on the Water” on her second album (I am playing the fiddle), and a number of other artists have covered it, most recently Caroline Herring.
In October 2011, I released two CDs of mostly orginal material. "Solo" features just my own singing and playing, as I perform these songs when playing solo. "Collaborations" is a compliation of songs recorded over the last 10 years with different music associates.
I have worked blue collar jobs and white collar jobs, with people in many different parts of the world. With some mileage on my chassis now and a lot of this planet traveled, I can say that music is one of Nature’s laws. Everybody is moved by music. Everyone has a favorite song, or two, or twenty. One of my greatest joys is making music and sharing songs with people, and the more the better.
Life is good, and if I haven’t met you in person yet, I hope to before too long.
